Easter Sunday 2018

Our time in Kudjip is quickly drawing to an end. We have one more week of service and then our ninth trip to Kudjip Nazarene Hospital will be completed.

We have had many of the same yearly experiences. Scot working on the maternity ward - seeing patients and delivering babies. He has spent more of his time there and has offered training to the newer physicians, visiting medical students and to the nurses. Tyronza as continued to help with some office work at the Nazarene Asia-Pacific Field Office, provide child care to the missionary families and cook. Lots of cooking! Evenings are either spent alone and reading or hosting friends for dinner and games.

This trip we have experienced major tremors from earthquakes. There was significant damage and some loss of life in the neighboring province, Southern Highlands. We have had heavy rainfall in the evenings and the rivers have flooded in our area. Although we personally have not been harmed, local families have suffered loss. The PNG hospital staff conducted a donation drive of clothing, food and money to provide help to the earthquake victims. The road into that area is still closed and supplies have to be flown in.

We continue to our time in Kudjip and although we look forward to our next adventure (scuba diving in Indonesia) and then returning home, we will miss our Kudjip family.

Hope God is blessing all of you this Easter season.

Scot & Tyronza
